Quarter-final 3 - Stade Vélodrome - Sunday 15 October 2023
This is where England will hope to be – group winners and on course to maximise their chances in the knockout stages.
The sparring has been done, it’s now down to the serious stuff. The best eight teams in the world will come together, with a place in the last four at stake, which means one moment of brilliance or one mistake could be fatal.
In 2019, England put Australia to the sword in Oita and that momentum propelled them all the way to the final, what will be in store this time?

Marseille
France’s second biggest city and largest port is a really intriguing place in which to spend a few days. You can eat well in any French city, but Marseille's location, peering south across the water towards Morocco and Algeria, means that you can find a discernible North African influence to its cuisine.
Inevitably, you can dine well on seafood too, in the restaurants laced around the Vieux Port (Old Port) – the thick fish stew that is bouillabaisse originated in the city and is very much a speciality. There are plenty of bars for a drink too – particularly on Place Jean Jaures, where the evening runs on late. Out in the bay, Chateau D'If is just as dramatic and the Cathedral (Cathedrale Sainte-Marie-Majeure) is one of France’s most beautiful.
